Carbon Neutral Government Programme (CNGP) participants must have their Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory verified by their deadline date, which is:

  • Tranche 1 organisations: By September 2022 for year end 30 June 2022

  • Tranche 2 and 3 organisations: By September 2023 for year end 30 June 2023

Tranche 1 organisations include departments, departmental agencies and non-public service departments.

Tranche 2 organisations include Crown Agents.

Tranche 3 organisations include the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Offices of Parliament, the Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives, the Parliamentary Service and tertiary institutions – who are encouraged (but not mandated) from 2022/23 to measure and report their emissions.
